9 Viral Marketing Tips For Blog Traffic

Affiliate marketing techniques on how to make fast easy money online for beginners are similar to blog marketing in some ways because both require good traffic and publicity to sell their products. In my research into affiliate marketing tips, I realise that there are quite a few viral marketing techniques which can be adapted and applied to increase blog traffic and publicity. However I have to add the disclaimer that you need to assess if the tips are workable for your specific type of blog.

1. “Tell A Friend” Script

Make it easy for visitors to refer their friends by using a small script that allows people to enter the contact information of people they think would be interested in your site. Most people know other people just like themselves and would like to share what they’ve found with their friends and colleagues – that’s why you’ve been receiving lots of jokes and health tips in your email inbox. Feedburner has a built in email script in their FeedFlare which allows you to incorporate this feature neatly into each post.

2. Distribute A Brandable Ebook Or Special Report

Believe it or not, despite having being around since the beginning of internet marketing, ebooks are still popular. Especially if they are free and brandable which allows people to put their own name and site on it to giveaway. Some go even further – they allow you to rebrand the ebook, sell it and keep 100% of the profits. That’s basically getting money for doing nothing. Of course, you are obliged to keep the contents and affiliate links intact. Still it’s not a bad way to earn some cash just by retyping over a name.

3. Submit Your Free Ebook Or Special Report To Directories

There are many free directories dedicated to compiling lists of free information products where you can get added exposure and traffic. To make your product stand out from the rest, make sure what you are offering is a high quality product so that people will be interested. Run-of-the-mill free information doesn’t quite cut it anymore since free information is plentiful. Spend some time to do in-depth research and write a quality ebook instead of throwing one together in an hour using various PLR articles.

4. Create A Free Widget Or Tool On Your Site

Engage the services of a freelance programmer who can create a simple tool or widget that will be useful to your targeted readers. Include your website address in the source code and allow people to put it on their own blogs. You can get no obligation price quotes for such projects at freelance jobs boards such as eLance and RentACoder.

5. Include A Useful Script Or Plugin

If you don’t want to spend on a programmer, pick up a free script instead. You can never have too many plugins as WordPress users will know. There are also many scripts that add to a site’s effectiveness, such as a script that lets you rotate banner ads, or a script that lets you conduct online web-based auctions or a plugin that helps you find stolen content easily. You can get CGI scripts at The CGI Resource Index. For PHP scripts, get them at The PHP Resource.

6. Offer A Multi-tier Affiliate Programme With High Commission

If you have an outstanding product that offers high commission AND has a multi-tier plan, chances are your fantastic product will soon spread by word of mouth faster than you can ever do on your own. Offer 2 or 3 tiers of commission to make your product more attractive for affiliates to recruit new affiliates. A good affiliate marketing programme can result in exponential growth in traffic.

7. Create A Flash-Based Game On Your Site

Include a simple and fun game on your site designed to advertise your website, product or service. If it becomes popular, it can create a substantial amount of traffic to your site. To further leverage on this, make it a requirement for visitors to enter their email addresses before they can play so that you can follow up with them later.

If you have a great ebook or report, send it to A-listers in your industry for them to read and critique. If you are lucky, they will blog about it and send you tons of traffic since they are likely to have thousands of readers everyday who won’t hesitate to check out something or even sign up and buy a product just because an A-list blogger mentions it.

9. Apply Other Viral Marketing Techniques Being Used

Not so long ago, videos were confined to funny gag videos to be emailed to friends and colleagues for a laugh but somewhere in between, someone took the viral video and turned it into a marketing tool. And now, everyone is jumping on board the viral video ship to the extent that even simple messages are being sent via video rather than the usual blog post. Some use it as a teaser to attract viewers to visit their site while others require you to give your email in order to view that “Secret Selling Technique” video. Think about what existing mediums you can tap on and put a new spin to it for your own benefit.

SomeUseless.Info will get round to putting some of the above tips to make money on the internet into practice soon.

Choose a reliable web host which has a good uptime track record and customer service is important. You may have to be prepared to spend a little more to ensure some reasonable level of quality hosting.

Visiting a web host’s forum where members discuss the web host’s service will give you a good idea of its reliability but since most have a 30-day money-back guarantee, signing up to try would probably be the best way to go.

After building up a fair amount of quality content, you can apply to join professional blog networks if your blog meets the high standards of these sites you can try to join these get paid to blog professional networks: Blogburst, B5media, Orble.

7. Paid reviews

Some blog networks will assign offers to you from time to time and all you have to do is blog about the product or service and provide links as required on your blog. Other options of monetizing your blog may also be given such as placing banners and buttons or text links on your blog.

8. Variations of paid blogging
There are several offshoots of paid blogging which instead of writing about a product or service, you get paid for your knowledge on certain topics and for providing answers to questions asked by other members in the community. Topics range from business to automobiles to health. You will be evaluated by a test before being accepted but earnings could be substantially higher than regular blogging.

You can also earn by providing a writing service such as academic papers and resumes, or writing content for end users such as websites, magazines and newsletters. These pay more than the usual paid blogging and is the the way to go if you have the skills.

9. Blogging for companies
Businesses recognize the blog revolution and even large corporations have set up blogs. Many look to freelance professional bloggers for their blog. Software development companies may require bloggers for gadgets and tech-related topics. A lifestyle magazine may require bloggers to write about the night scene in their city or updates on celebrity gossip. The scope is restricted only by your ability and time. Sites: Bloggerjobs.biz, Jobs.problogger.net, Elance.com

10. Blogging for individuals

The above information is based on my personal experience in my quest to find as many viable ways as possible on how to make money on the internet.

10 notes to earn money online by blogging – Part 1

Getting paid to blog is one of the easiest and fastest ways for those who want to know how to make fast easy money online for beginners. Explore the many ways to make money online by blogging with or without a blog, get paid to write reviews of products and services, and earn extra cash by writing articles, content and blogging for Google AdSense blog networks.

1. An overview on paid blogging
There are 3 main flavours of paid blogging – your own blog on your own domain and webhost, using a blog on a free blog service such as Blogger and creating a blog on a blog network. The work is the same. You get paid to write or blog about a product, service or anything required by a customer.

The amount paid varies greatly from US$1 to US$200 or more for about 50 to 200 words depending on advertiser requirement. The more popular or higher traffic your blog has, the greater your reach and therefore the higher you are paid. Terms vary in that you may be asked to write a single post from time to time or you may be contracted to blog a minimum of 1 post a day for a few weeks for a specified sum.

2. Blog requirements
Usually, there are certain requirements that your blog will have to meet before being accepted for assignments. Requirements vary with each paid-to-blog network. Generally though, paid-to-blog networks do not accept new blogs with little content and no readership base, so you will need to spend the first few weeks or months writing posts regularly to build up a sizeable amount of content.

You could buy articles or use free articles from various sources of course, but ultimately you will have to write your own unique content to keep readers coming back. It’s a lot of hard work.

Other requirements could be that your blog has to be several months old, be indexed by Google, be of a certain pagerank or have a certain amount of traffic. Blog content and writing standard also affect approval. If you do not own a blog, you may be asked to provide some writing samples for evaluation.

3. Using a free blog on a blogging service
Creating a free blog on Blogger, Live Journal, WordPress and other free blogging services is how most bloggers will start off. These sites are fine for personal blogs but if you have plans to monetize your blog and use it as a means to provide some form of viable revenue, it is best to register your own domain and host your own blog on a web host.

This is because you will have complete control over how you want to monetize your blog and have your own entity and identity eg. yourblog.com instead of yourblog.blogspot.com. Also, some paid-to-blog networks do not accept blogs created on a free blogging service.

4. Creating a blog on a blog network
If you do not own a blog, you can still earn from blogging. Some blog networks require you to create a blog hosted on their network with their revenue earned directly from advertisers, syndication or other means.

Other blog networks engage you as their freelance professional blogger where you have to commit to making regular posts. In such cases, the content you create could belong to the blog network and you will not be able to use your content anywhere else. These have very high journalistic standards and are difficult to get accepted.

5. Posting on Google AdSense blog networks

Other blog networks who use Google’s AdSense programme to generate revenue are less restrictive in terms of topics to write about and tend to be less demanding when it comes to content quality and the reuse of content at other sites.

Bloggers are paid by Google AdSense from the number of clicks received on ads embedded in their posts. Therefore you must first sign up for Google’s AdSense programme before joining these blog networks. You also get paid for referrals. Payouts may seem too little to bother with but if you are active in many networks, the amounts add up.

Stay tuned for the next part in this series.

If you know of any other adsense alternatives, do let me know and I’ll include it in the list.

As an added note about CPM advertising, the amount of money you make from showing banners and other interstitials such as pop ups will not be significant unless your site has upwards of 100,000 monthly impressions.

If you run a make money blog, you’re unlikely to benefit from CPM ads. You’d be much better off using PPC and affiliate marketing where blog traffic is targeted and likely to check out interesting offers and ads related to making money online.

Another thing that makes CPM a poor way to earn money online is that different CPM ad networks have highly arbitrary, not to mention confidential methods of calculating earnings. This is in addition to many CPM networks counting only certain visitors from specific countries.

As if things are not complicated enough, some CPM ad networks may state an attractive CPM rate in the beginning to attract publishers, only to have these rates reduce gradually overtime.

Generally, pop-ups, full page ads and other highly annoying forms of interstitials are the best earners. But you would have to consider if you are willing to run the risk of driving away your readers with these annoying ads when earnings are not that great anyway.

If you run a site that has mostly raw traffic and you have over 100,000 impressions per month, CPM advertising would probably work for you but as stated before, if you run a make money blog or some site that depends on social or returning traffic, you would be better off with PPC, affiliate marketing and even direct advertising to earn money online.

Make Money Running Errands

The net provides many fast easy ways to make money online for beginners not just in blogging but also other non-tech areas such as doing house chores. DoMyStuff.com is a job board that lets advertisers look for people to do their errands such as cleaning and moving or anything else you need help to do.
make money running errands

How to make money fast on the internet

An advertiser puts up the job offer and interested applicants bid on the job. Advertisers have options to limit the bidding to certain locations or to bidders with a minimum rating. This rating is given by employers who rate the assistants according to their performance.

Although there are quite a few household type chores listed, there are also the more “usual” types of jobs being offered such as web design and writing. In fact, these kinds of job offers seem to attract more bids maybe because the internet is not commonly used by electricians and furniture movers to get jobs.

DoMyStuff.com provides an online escrow service that lets employers make payment into the account that will only be forwarded to the assistant upon satisfactory completion of the task. There is also a forum where employer and assistant can communicate to iron out details and clarify any questions both parties may have.

The good thing about DoMyStuff.com is that it is free to use for both employers and assistants. There are no transaction or monthly fees.
