With the major clampdown that CPALead did just recently that resulted in many publishers losing their accounts, other CPA networks have jumped in to fill the need of these publishers by adding the content gateway feature that has become so popular to make fast easy money online.
If you are new to the online money making scene, CPA stands for cost per action, with the action being the user filling in a survey before gaining access to some content. This way, the user does not have to pay cash and so is more likely to complete the survey while the publisher makes money.
Until the said clamp down by CPALead, using copyright material such as movies, software and other content that are in demand was a really easy way to make money. However, as with any successful system, it soon was abused to the point that advertisers rejected such sites that often tricked users in filling surveys but did not deliver the content promised.
There are a number of CPA alternatives that provide the content gateway feature but you can also use a script or WordPress plugin that does almost the same thing, although geo-targeting and tracking may be somewhat problematic. These products cost anywhere from $60 upwards which is not cheap but the plus point is that you can add the offers you want from different CPA networks, especially those who do not have this feature.
These are the CPA networks with content gateway locking that I have come across so far.
Leadbolt
Unless you make over $3,000 a day with them, you can only use their pre-set widget skins. Customisation is almost nil – you can’t input your own text. You can now upload your own widget skin and in put your own text but they are subject to approval which means you may have to wait a few minutes or hours, depending on their response time before your widget is active. You cannot choose offers, in fact the offers are not even available for viewing which means you could be getting those pesky $0.38 surveys. Net 15 minimum $100 payout via Paypal or wire transfer. Paypal incurs 1.5% fees for less than $500.
Adscend Media
You can use your own widget skin and select the offers you want. Very highly customisable with many offers for both incentive and non-incentive traffic. Net 30 minimum $50 payout via Paypal, cheque, direct deposit and wire transfer.
Dollarade
Small CPA network with choice of flash based and html gateway widgets. Limited offers (less than 100) with many in the low payout range of $0.45 for US traffic. over 75% being mobile offers with relatively high payouts. Typically, mobile offers see lower conversions but due to their higher epc, it may be worthwhile if you have enough traffic.Net 30 minimum $50 payout via Paypal, cheque and direct deposit.
Instantdollarz
Offers both incentive and non-incentive offers. Customisable gateway widget. Applicants must be a resident of United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, the Netherlands or Australia. Net 30 payouts via Paypal, cheque and wire transfer.
Incent2Click
Must have a top level domain English website with a minimum of 5,000 uniques per month. International affiliates require a minimum $100 for net 30 payout via Paypal. Amounts above $1,000 must be paid either by cheque or wire transfer.
BlamAds
Pre-set content gateway widget that automatically split tests offers for incentive traffic only. A subsidiary of EWA and currently under private beta testing.
BLVD-media
They call the content gateway widget a rewardTool but I couldn’t get it to work on their demo page so I have no idea what it’s like. Net 30 minimum $1 payouts via Paypal, cheque and wire transfer.
MGCash
Has content gateway and file download locks for websites and mobile. Net 30 minimum $50 payouts via Paypal, cheque, wire transfer and WebMoney.
Syndik8ed Media
Private network with less than 50 offers although their sales page claims 1000+ offers. Gateways can be customised for colour and font using their template. Payment details are not available.
Red Fire Network
Only accepts applications from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, the Netherlands or Australia.
AdGate Media
Very new site, having just registered their domain on 21 Jan 2011. They have stated in a forum that they do not accept publishers from Asia. No TOS is found on their site, which is a bad sign.
AffiliateGateways
Accepts movie and TV sites. A selection of lead and sale offers which are made available to you based on your website profile submitted during application. Additional offers have to be requested. Standard widget skin templates available are very basic and poorly designed, but you can use your own skins. The interface is almost the same as CPALead with step by step customisation for text, skins and monetization options including virtual currency and Paypal. Net 30 days payment at $100 minimum.
So which CPA network to choose as CPALead alternative to make money?
Almost all networks do not allow the use of content that you do not have publishing rights. You can do so stealthily, but if you get caught, your account would be banned and most likely along with it, your earnings forfeited. So whether you want to take that risk is something you have to decide for yourself.
