Readers of this make money online review blog would have been greeted by this error message for the last few days. This was because my web hosting account had exceeded its alloted bandwidth.
However, it wasn’t this blog that caused it. Another blog of mine had seen unusually high traffic and I didn’t think it would exceed the limit when I received an automated email warning me that 80% of my bandwidth had been used up.
It did. Within 2 days of getting the email.
To make things worse, my web host was experiencing other more serious issues with another server which had gone under taking everyone with it. So my little problem of wanting to purchase more bandwidth was ignored.
This little episode has taught me an important lesson in being prepared for the unexpected. Things that have seemingly gone well all along can hit a wall without warning. It also taught me that I should not take price as a criteria for choosing a web host. Not when you are using the web sites to make money online.
Therefore, I have sourced out a more reliable web host and will be moving my sites over probably during the weekend as that’s when readership tends to be lower. So bear with a little more downtime then as I change nameservers to point to my new web host.
