Does Blogging Zoom Bring Traffic?
Blogging Zoom is a Digg-like social bookmarking site for blogs. Bloggers can submit their own posts to be listed for other bloggers to vote for or “zoom”. Created by Courtney Tuttle and Vic Franqui, Blogging Zoom aims to increase traffic for bloggers by bloggers.

I signed up about 2 weeks ago without any expectations and submitted a few articles on money making ideas and blog traffic.
Blogging Zoom Brings Traffic
I haven’t seen a massive explosion in traffic but Blogging Zoom has brought me about 42 uniques so far. Seems a miserable number but if compared to other traffic tools such as BlogRush, Blogging Zoom performed many times better over the same period.
As with any social bookmarking site, how many visitors you get depends on how interesting your article is to attract the votes. My best performing article so far is about Google slapping blogs with zero pagerank which received 13 zooms.
My worst performing article is my very first submission about the recent million dollar wiki craze which received no zooms. Interestingly, both are topical posts which performed very differently. I guess people really are sick of all these wikis popping up.
Making Blogging Zoom Perform Better
Blogging Zoom co-founder Vic Franqui mentions a very valid point in his post about bloggers who complain that Blogging Zoom doesn’t work. Something which I have to admit that I am guilty of myself.
Bloggers happily submit their own posts but never think to zoom posts by other bloggers. This is a community for bloggers and a big part of making it work in bringing in traffic is to zoom other posts generously. I haven’t given much thought to that before but from now on, I will make it a point to not only zoom other posts which I find useful and enjoyable but also to zoom those who have “zoomed” my posts.
Blogging Zoom New Features Wishlist
I would like Blogging Zoom to have some way of letting users filter posts into their smaller niches - the tag cloud which is not designed for human eyes. Right now, all top posts are lumped into one list, another shows upcoming posts and another shows recently saved posts.
I would like to be able to set my options to view posts in a particular niche - specifically make money online blogs so that I can jump into that area immediately. Right now, that category is broadly defined as money which includes topics like forex and loans.
Blogging Zoom Deserves Support
Blogging Zoom is still fairly new but its results are encouraging. Bloggers need to work together to zoom each others’ posts and with its built-in SEO for blogs, there is still room to grow for Blogging Zoom to bring in even more traffic for blogs.

Does Blogging Zoom Bring Traffic?…
I signed up about 2 weeks ago without any expectations and submitted a few articles on money making ideas and blog traffic. So how did Blogging Zoom perform against other traffic tools like BlogRush?
Blogging Zoom co-founder Vic Franqui mentions a ve…
My results via BZ have been great. Not the raw numbers of Digg or Stumble Upon but the traffic is consistent and easily repeatable.
As far as your point about being able to “filter” results..you can do that by using the categories on the side…unless I mis-understood what you were saying.
I usually post in the television or movies category, so I’m constantly in that group looking at new posts.
A Blog about Nothing:
StumbleUpon brings in more traffic than Blogging Zoom. Digg doesn’t work for me at all.

Yup, I’m aware of the category list but I would like a more targeted subcategory eg. make money blogs instead of just “Money” or “Blogging” which are too broad.
Guess I’m just too lazy to go searching for relevant posts.

Good article. The fact that blogging zoom is so farely new and that it has only been around for about a month or so tells you something. Digg has been around for a decent amount of time and so has stumbleupon. If you were to give Bloggingzoom a year to mature and do the math on what you have received for traffic now the numbers would be truly valuable to any blog.
After only 4 days on BZ, I’m getting more traffic than I’ve ever gotten with Digg (or Reddit). Actually, it’s better than just traffic. People are staying on my blog and poking around. Huge BZ fan here!
One of the most notable features of BZ is the quality of traffic.
How many of you experience this kind of comment support using SU or Digg. I never get comments from those users but the people at BZ, small in numbers that they are, do take the time to make useful and intelligent comments - a valuable source of feedback by anyone’s measure.
Hi,
I did a post(4th one) about BZ yesterday and got my best zoomed with 15(so far) and 18 visitors. I will zoomed yours to bring it to 15.
I was looking for the big zoomed plugin but I guest you don’t have it install yet
JC:
I agree. For BZ to have such a promising start is more than I can say for fancy traffic widgets launched by big name internet marketers where numbers are still dismal weeks after its launch and relaunch.
Kathy:
I get more raw traffic from SU but not many comments, so even though BZ brings less traffic, I think it is targeted, quality traffic.
Thanks for stopping by.
Grizzly:
Yes I do notice. SU bring in lots of traffic for some posts but it’s mainly raw traffic and certainly I don’t get as many comments.
Thanks for visiting.
Steve:
Thanks for the zoom! I have to go look for the plugin now.
cheers

It is nice way to spend some blogging time.
I think the amount of traffic you can extract from this Blogging Zoom thing is directly proportional to the time you spend at this site. Submitting more of your posts, commenting and generally active.
Just like everywhere else, the quality of headlines determines if you get traffic or not. Biggest stress on headline writing is going to be the key.
I liked the idea and have signed up.

Agreed. The same goes for other traffic generating avenues. The problem is time.
Multiply all by several blogs all the nitty gritty blog related things that need to be done and you have quite a daunting task in time management without heading to blog burnout.
