Make money and win prizes at 14 contest blogs

Blog contests have taken off in a big way. It not only provides another way to make money and win prizes for bloggers but also increases blog traffic for blogs that hold these contests. As a result, a new niche of contest blogs have appeared.

These blogs serve as convenient one-stop sites for interested bloggers to check for contests being currently held. Some popular ones with high traffic have evolved into money making sites themselves by charging bloggers to have their contests listed or featured.

Even bigger companies like BlogCatalog are getting in on the contest scene with a recently held contest offering an impressive $2,500 prize. Most of the time though, prizes are in the hundred dollar range offered by individual bloggers whose main aim for holding contests is to hopefully increase traffic and linkbacks. As blog contests become more popular, prizes get bigger to stand out from the crowd to attract more participants.

If you have a contest, you will get more exposure and participation by listing your contest at multiple blog contest sites rather than just announcing it on your blog. Here is a list of contest blogs which not only list contests for blogs but also other contests around the internet.

Contest Blogger

One of the first official contest blogs, it is biggest with a large inventory of contests. Listing here is free but charges $50 if you want your contest to be featured for more exposure and consequently more traffic.
The Prize Blog

Another established contest blog that’s been around since Dec 2006 with lots of listings in various categories. Beside blogging competitions, there are categories for giveaways, gaming, sweepstakes and much more.
My Blog Contest

Fairly new but well laid out site that’s pleasing to the eye and easy to navigate. You can choose to view contests by categories or by the prizes offered. There is a useful section that lists contests which are closing soon.

Submitting to the top 3 or 4 contest sites would probably be sufficient for publicity purposes because they have the most traffic and also because the information would most likely be picked up by others. But if you have the time, do check out the smaller, newer sites as well.

Thanks for the link. I would say that we have been making a lot of headway in relations to Technorati ranking and Alexa ranking. I think we have probably moved up to top to mid section of the list. Thanks again.
