Find stolen content easily
Filed Under Internet, Resources, Wordpress |

Digital Fingerprint is a Wordpress plugin that helps you trace your stolen content easily. It adds your personal digital “fingerprint” to posts in your RSS Feed only - not on your website since spam blogs or splogs often use autoblog plugins to scrape content off other blogs via RSS Feeds without human involvement.
RSS Feed readers of Some Useless Info will notice that there is the extra notation - |WAIYOW| - at the beginning of my posts. This is my digital fingerprint. It is something unique to me that Digital Fingerprint automatically searches for in the blogosphere using Google Blogsearch, BlogPulse, and Sphere. Additional searches for Google, Yahoo!, and MSN are incorporated into the dashboard, so you can do your search within your admin dashboard.
An Effective Way To Be Notified Of Stolen Content
You can even use your digital fingerprint as a search term with Google Alerts to send you emails if your digital fingerprint is found on other sites. This way, you don’t have to manually search the web for your stolen content, plus you get free notification.
Digital Fingerprint Is Easy To Install And Configure
After activating the plugin, you create your personal digital fingerprint and decide where to place it in your post. There are several preset options - at the beginning, start of each paragraph or end of each post, but you can also use a fingerprint marker to place at a specific location. Once you’ve decided on that, click update and you’re done.
