YouTube with embedded AdSense

YouTube and AdSense

YouTube is one step nearer to implementing its paying programme for members providing another way to make money online with videos. Mashable has the screencaps and details for the YouTube page but apparently it’s been taken down since.

Still the gist of it is that YouTube will embed AdSense units into its players where you can select the categories to include and exclude according to your target audience. The ad units are outside the video content and sit on top of the video player instead of fading in and out at the beginning and end of the video like how some other paying video sites have it. The video player colour and theme can be customised to fit your site.

At the moment, it seems that YouTube is only signing up its premium content providers for this programme.
