My SlashMySearch earnings findings

SlashMySearch is an online search engine that pays you for using it, among other things. It created quite a buzz when it first started with members getting really excited about their earnings. However, recently members notice that rates have dropped drastically, from the advertised $0.25 per hour to a fraction of that amount despite diligent use.

To further confuse matters, SlashMySearch has no clear cut formula to determine earnings since they are based on “activity” which includes using the search engine, participation in the forum and referrals. According to its admins, rates can fluctuate for any number of reasons including number of members and performance of SlashMySearch itself. Also, the number of times when activity is checked is not fixed.

Therefore, I decided to do a little research to track earnings based on activity. If you look at the chart, it tracks about 1 hour of being on SlashMySearch.

I began tracking from around 10am with existing earnings of $0.18730. You can see the amount of time I spent on each activity - searching and participating in forums, and the corresponding earnings made. I finished around 11am where I ended up with $0.28570. So for 1 hour of “activity” - at normal pace - I earned a grand total of $0.0984.

Note that during the last few minutes from 10.56am to 11.08am there were no earnings even though I was reading the forum. This could be the time when the system was not checking for activity. Theoretically, if I were to do this for a continous 8hrs, I would earn about $0.7872.

I will leave it to you to draw your own conclusions from these findings.

i think slashmysearch isn’t good coz it’s so hard
to reach the payout with the current rate of

SlashMySearch is grap!! 0 results or results not related to my query at all. Their mailinglist acts like spam, you’re getting email after email (the same) and unsubscribe doesn’t work. Also it is not possibe to delete your account.

Save your time and energy in better things and use Google or what ever your favorite browser is. Wash your neighbors car and you earn more!!

I myself haven’t logged into SMS after my findings. Yet there are others who still swear by it…especially those who have lots of referrals. If you notice…I have not put up my referral link.
