iPad Mini

Apple has revealed the iPad Mini along with a refresh of many of its range of iMacs and MacBooks. It also released the iPad 4 which is somewhat of a surprise considering that the third generation iPad was launched just 6 months ago.

However it was the iPad Mini that held the most attention with its 7.9 inch multi-touch screen display with 1024×768 pixels, dual-core A5 processor Wi-Fi and optional 4G connectivity, a 5-megapixel camera and a claimed 10-hour battery life.

It is 52 percent lighter at 308g and 23 percent thinner than the full sized iPad. Those who are expecting Retina Display will be disappointed. No doubt it is a feature Apple has saved for its iPad Mini 2.0.

Test New iPhone 5

iPhone 5

Apple has finally launched the new iPhone 5 with significant improvements in both hardware and software. The physical size has been increased with a larger 4-inch display while becoming slimmer at 7.6mm – 18 percent thinner and 20 percent lighter than the iPhone 4S. Apple has cleverly not followed the smartphone market tendency to make the display wider that makes it more awkward to hold and type with one hand.

Following up on its stunning Retina display, iPhone 5 has 1136-by-640 resolution giving it 44 percent improvement in color saturation. Although it uses LTE wireless technology, Apple says that iPhone 5 is optimized for better battery life – up to 8 hours talktime and 10 hours video playback – even as it uses the A6 chip for faster graphics performance.

With everyday photography becoming the norm now with smartphones, iPhone 5 has upgraded its iSight camera to 28 megapixels with panorama feature, 40 percent faster photo capture, better low-light performance, and improved noise reduction. 1080p HD video with the iSight camera with improved video stabilization helps prevent shaky footage.

If you get the new iPhone 5, you will have to get an adapter for your cables as making the phone slimmer and lighter means using the 9-pin Lightning connector. New software features the new Maps and more languages for Siri on the new iOS 6.
